Promptus Welcomes Dr. Benjamin Sanchez Terrones as Chief Scientific Officer

As Promptus continues to expand its scientific capabilities, we are proud to welcome Dr. Benjamin Sanchez Terrones as our new Chief Scientific Officer (CSO). 

Dr. Sanchez Terrones will lead the scientific vision and research strategy across the Promptus portfolio, guiding technical development to ensure our innovations are grounded in rigorous measurement science, aligned with real clinical workflows, and structured for long-term regulatory and commercial success. 

A bioelectrical engineer by training, Dr. Sanchez Terrones brings deep expertise in non-invasive physiological sensing, wearable and connected health technologies, and cardiovascular and respiratory research. He currently serves as Associate Professor in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering and the Richard and Loan Hill Department of Biomedical Engineering at the University of Illinois Chicago. He previously held faculty appointments at the University of Utah and completed clinical research training at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center and Harvard Medical School. 

Throughout his career, Dr. Sanchez Terrones has focused on measuring and modeling bioelectrical signals to better understand physiological function. His work spans basic and translational research with direct patient impact. This rare combination of engineering depth and hands-on clinical experience enables him to bridge disciplines—translating complex signal science into tools designed with real-world healthcare needs in mind. 

His research contributions have been widely recognized, including multiple highlighted publications and awards such as the Rising Star Award from the University of Utah’s Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering and the Extraordinary Ph.D. Thesis Award from the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya. Several of his peer-reviewed publications have ranked among the most downloaded in leading journals focused on physiological measurement.

As CSO, Dr. Sanchez Terrones will oversee scientific partnerships, validation strategies, and research roadmaps across the Promptus portfolio, including emerging biosensing platforms currently in development. His leadership strengthens our commitment to building technologies on a foundation of high-quality data, clinically meaningful outcomes, and disciplined translational pathways.
